Book Lover Giveaway and Link-Up!

Jessica Greyson is holding a Book Lover's Giveaway for Valentine's Day, and she's holding a link-up!  Here is the post about it...and now, without further ado, onto the questions!

Jessica Greyson
What book do you love but everyone else seems to hate (or dislike)?
Erm...I don't know...I read a lot of books. :P  Howard Pyle's Robin Hood, maybe?  Of course, I don't really "love" it either, but I do enjoy it, and it seems like not many other people do. ;)
What book does everyone else seem to love, but you just can’t get into?
Divergent by Veronica Roth.  I attempted to read it awhile ago, and...urgh.  Not my type of book.
Love in books—love or hate it?
That depends.  I don't really like romance being the center of a book, but I do enjoy romantic "side plots," and I don't mind it if the hero has a love interest.
What is your favorite friendship/brotherhood/sisterhood in a book?
Ummm...goodness, do I have to choose just ONE?  There are so many great ones: Johnny and Rab from Johnny Tremain, Combeferre and Enjo from (you guessed it) Les Mis, Alyssa and Eana from a book I was privileged to beta-read...but if I had to choose, I'd say that I LOVE the friendship between Holmes and Watson from Sherlock Holmes--it's just so unique and amazing.
Do you “ship” couples when you read? What are some of your favorite ships—that sailed or didn’t?
End. Of. Story.
Yep.  Enjonine's probably my biggest ship (because it SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED), but I have so many other ones.  Cehan (Cosette and Jehan), Raoul/Christine (they're so perfect together! *cue Frozen music*), Kili/Tauriel (okay, so that's from a movie), Jo/Laurie, Cap Garland/Laura (yes, they were real people, but still...), Rose/Charlie...I could go on.
Do you still exchange Valentines?
No...
Your favorite Valentine gift, chocolate, flowers or something else? Chocolate, dark, milk, white—other?
Mint chocolate.  'Nuff said, really.
Your personal views on Valentine’s day?
I don't like all the commercial stuff about it, but I think if you take away all that, it's a sweet holiday.
Favorite sweet Read?
I'm not quite sure what this means...if you mean romance novel, The Scarlet Pimpernel. ;)
Favorite fairytale and why?
When I was little, I loved Disney's Snow White, and really, I still kind of do.  I love Beauty and the Beast (again, Disney) because Belle's love of books reminded me so much of me ;P, Cinderella the Broadway musical...but this is getting waaaaayy off-track here.  My favorite fairytale is Beauty and the Beast, because the romance between Belle and Prince Adam (if that's his name) is a beautiful, slow-growing one, mature one, and Belle actually has a good relationship with her father.
Favorite romantic gesture in a book?
Ummm...how about Mr. Knightley's behavior to Emma, in general? Haha...otherwise, I adore the part in Little Dorrit where Amy comes to stay in debtors' prison with Arthur.
Do you have a favorite “romantic movie” for that you like to watch?
The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982).
Favorite Literary couple and why?
Mr. Knightley and Emma.  I love "childhood romances," and Mr. Knightley is so gentlemanly and loving towards Emma...it's amazing. Favorite opinion about love from a Character? (like Jo in Little Women...to her it was an awful idea).Olaf (from Frozen)'s, probably.  "Love is...putting someone else's needs before yours."
Favorite quote about love?
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. (Proverbs 10:12)
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a)

And there it is!  For more information on the giveaway, go here.
Thanks for doing this, Jessica!

Loved your answers! I'm really thinking I should read The Scarlet Pimpernel, it sounds quite good from what people say.
Is it allright if I do this? I don't know internet rules very well :P

Mr. Knightly and Emma! I haven't found a movie version if Emma yet, and I haven't read the book, but I am watching Emma Approved and I think I like Mr. Knightly more than Mr. Darcy. He's just so sweet, but not afraid to tell Emma she is being too nosy and needs to stop butting into everything. I love him.
